You Shouldn't Have to Pay for Data!

A user in one of these data tools costs £10-20k a year. For that you get a login and a search bar. Nothing happens unless someone makes it happen.

You shouldn't have to pay for this. Not because data has no value, but because almost all of it is already free, and now LLMs and agents can go find pretty much anything you'd want.

These tools are built to be broad. They need to try to cover everyone, every industry, every company size, and every region, because that's who they sell to. You don't sell to everyone. You have a specific market and a specific set of buyers. Their coverage was never built for you, so it's no surprise there are gaps.

We know because we’ve used them all. We ended up building our own database using public sources plus everything we've picked up doing outreach for clients over the years. We use it in tandem with other data tools as well. Ideally, you’d have 4-5 different tools fit for purpose. But this isn’t realistic for most companies who can’t spread the cost out across a number of clients.

Meanwhile, half the team probably doesn't even have a login to your database tool, because seats are expensive and someone capped the number. The people who do log in mostly just pull a list and send a generic message. But even that is the first thing that stops the moment the quarter gets busy. (We all know the peaks and valleys of prospecting)

So you end up paying a lot for broad coverage you don't need, most of your team can't access it anyway, and the ones who can barely use it.

You probably already know where the information that matters to your business lives (if not, just ask your model of choice). Then, use an LLM and a few agents to go get it and build your own database, just for what you need. It costs a fraction of what you're paying now, and it fits your market better than a tool built for everyone. Plus you can then customize the data to your unique sales process and put it in front of reps when they need it vs gated behind a complex tool they probably don’t even know how to use.

For us, the database is just a tool. It's not what we sell. It exists to help us get results for clients, nothing more. Treat your data the same way.

Stop paying for the platform. Spend that money on the part that actually gets results, which is the actual execution that happens after you’ve built the list.

Instead of us telling you what we do, why don’t you ask ChatGPT?
